Sttoke Pop Up at Takashimaya

Writer: Geraldine TohGeraldine Toh

In November 2024, Sttoke Melbourne held a 14-day pop up in Takashimaya Departmental Store along Orchard Road, launching their latest range of Kerrie and Poly accessory straps alongside their iconic ceramic shatterproof travel tumblers.

Together with Ruby from Hellohomebodies, Geraldine and Ruby collaboratively designed the pop up spatial set up in Takashimaya over a period of 2 months, including conceptualization, build design, and working with builders to fabricate and install the display structures for Sttoke Melbourne. Playing on the idea of personalization - mixing and matching cups with a variety of cup sleeve and strap colour offerings, the duo was inspired by the sushi belt concept; a self-service, choose to your liking type of set up, while using curved display structures that mimicked the look of sushi belts to break up the hard edges of the otherwise triangular floor space.

The set up was colourful, with a mix of colours derived from the new strap launch colours used in the structures. A decal cladded wall acts as the backdrop for the pop up and stock display, while two curved sushi belt island structures served as visually capturing display spaces for tumblers and hanging straps.
